I've tried a variety of lip plumpers - the most recent was Cushy Lips. Cushy Lips comes in a tube with tinted gloss on one end, and plumper on the other. It's a 2 part process - both are applied with sponge applicators - the first delivers color, and the second is clear and a bit glossy without being sticky. Cushy Lips has a nice scent, the taste was sweet, and it felt very nice on my lips - not stinging, drying, or oily. Unfortunately, even after using it twice a day for over a month, it didn't seem to plump up my lips at all.
Some of the others plumpers I've tried include: DuWop's Venom - both the colored gloss and the clear plumper which I think is called FlashVenom. I've also tried Too Faced Lip Injection, City Lips, LipFusion, Sally Hanson, and my husband was able to get a great deal on several Freeze 24/7 skin products - so I was able to try the lip plumper. There was also a plumper by Skin Medica which I tried when it first came out. It was part of a skin care line carried by dermatologists, so I figured it might be better than over the counter products. Unfortunately not so.
Ever since I've known about lip plumpers I've been trying to plump mine up because they're very thin. I even went so far as to have an expensive filler put in my lips, and it plumped them for a very short period of time - maybe 2 - 3 months, but not the year I was told I'd probably get. I guess the rest was absorbed by my system. So, short of having cosmetic surgery, my lips are probably going to remain thin! One irony that came out of it was that I told my sister how I felt about my thin lips, and I've always thought she has really pretty lips- they're very pouty plump lips. She told me she thinks they're too plump! If only these were our worst worries! We'd be pretty darned lucky! |
